Online Return Policies: Lowes is Better than Home Depot

SUMMARY:

This article is about the online return policies for Lowes is better than Home Depot. For Lowes, there was a slogan saying "You can return your order at any Lowe’s store for your added convenience." Which is a huge benifit of shopping online at a site that’s backed by a brick-and-mortar network. If something arrives at your house and you didn't like it or something was wrong with it, you can simply return it to the store and get a refund or exchange. You don't have to mail it back and forth, which saves you some time.Theres also refunds for up to 90 days, but theres a few restiction for outdoor appliances and other major appliances.

For Home Depot, it wasn't as good as Lowes. There was a message saying "Items purchased on homedepot.com cannot be returned to our stores." Which means that items you buy online from home depot can not be be returned to any store location.Home depot also have alot more restrictions about returns. Home Depot also have alot more special rules for holiday decor, air conditioners, tractors, appliances, gift cards, furniture, wall paper samples, and much more. But recently Home Depot changed their policy ,It was supposed to be "Items purchased on homedepot.com cannot be returned to our stores", but now, theres four easy ways to return items that you've bought online from Home Depot.(http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ContentView?pn=Return_Policy&catalogId=10053&storeId=10051&langId=-1)

CONNECTIONS:

Most customers usually shop around before purchasing major products or services to make sure that they are of quality and at a desired price. Legally, retailers are not required to take back goods that customers bought, or return money or give out credit vouchers because customers intend to change their minds when they see the same product at a different store at a lower price. If they do that, then alot of stores won't have any business and would go bankrupted. If a guarantee is advertised, a salesperson or advertisement has mispresented the goods, then they must legally accpet the returns of goods.

REFLECTIONS:

In my opinion, every store should have a return policy because they should have the right to let people to return the goods they bought from the store. Most important is that, everyone should ask about the store's return policy before purchasing goods because every store is different. There's also a better chance of having more customers shop at your store if you have a awesome return policy compare to a store that won't let you return anything once you've pruchased it. If I was a customer trying to buy a hammer for example, I would be shopping at Lowes rather than at Home Depot because I can return the item if I don't like it or if something was wrong with it. Home Depot also changed their return policies without informing anything, which I find them somehow not honest. I think it's a good idea to post a big sign about the return policies in front of the store to inform shoppers about it.

  1. I totally agree with you. Every store should have a return a policy because if i bought something and I ended up not liking it or something was wrong wth it I would want a exchange and refund. It is the customers own responsibility to ask about the store's return policy but it is also the store's reponsibility to inform customers about their own policy and if they changed it so their won't be anymore problems in the future with a customer wanting to return something. Anyways, GOOD JOB LOL :)
